(Especially for ER110 students)
Recalling (or not!) our last class, take a look at this short tutorial on using the Evans Library catalog: http://w2.fmcc.edu/library/Using_FMCC_Catalog/index.html
Once you've done that, complete this short tutorial on using keywords to make searching easier:

What makes "sense" about the Evans Library catalog? Does it make finding information easier? What is confusing? Does using keywords and boolean logic help?

I didn't have a proublem searching through the catalog. I believe it made things much easier, especially to look for books in the library. It made it easier to search for a specific topic.
ReplyDeleteIt does make searching easier, it helps find information faster. Helps find what you are looking for, very good.
ReplyDeleteI find the Evan's Library Search very easy to understand, and easy to find on the college website. Finding information is quite easy for me, All you do is type in a key word, and if you are looking for a large array of books and possibly more topics then you use search all. But if you are only looking for specifics, the button for that is there as well. The Evan's library is very useful, adn i don't understand why more students don't take advantage of the program. It is a great resource for college studies and papers. But i guess that is just the changing of the times, and people want to do everything fast and quick. Hopefully more students will take advantage of this search, because it is very useful!! Plus using key words for any study, makes its faster, maybe faster than using say google, that gives you millions of choices.
